400 PAPERS PRESENTED AT THE 11TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BIOTECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT IN VIETNAM

Ngày 29 July 2026, International University (IU) – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) organize 11th International Conference on Biomedical Engineering (BME) in Vietnam. 11th edition of the Conference BME Attracted 400 scientific papers from reputable authors and scientists from 23 countries and regions.

Over the past 20 years, the BME conference has provided unique forums for the international and domestic biomedical engineering community to share valuable experiences, develop supportive networks, and strengthen cooperation to improve education, research, and entrepreneurship in low- and middle-income countries compared to advanced nations.

The BME conference is held every two years, gathering hundreds of papers from scientists around the world. This year, the 11th BME conference is co-organized by Nha Trang University, marking a memorable milestone and highlighting Vietnam’s significant development in the digital transformation and high-tech fields of healthcare.

BME11 selects the theme ‘Healthcare 4.0: Smart Health, Personalized Medicine, and Artificial Intelligence for Low-and Middle-Income Countries’ with the hope that scientific research not only updates with new technologies suitable for the era but also pays attention to the people in developing countries.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh – Deputy Rector in charge of International University – opened the 11th BME Conference on the morning of July 29, 2026.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh – Deputy Rector in charge of International University – affirmed: “The theme of this year’s conference is particularly meaningful and highly relevant. This theme reminds us that technological innovation is not only about expanding the limits of scientific knowledge but also about addressing essential healthcare needs for people. In the context of rapid global digital transformation, our shared responsibility is to ensure that advancements in artificial intelligence, smart healthcare, and personalized medicine become more accessible, cost-effective, and have a positive impact on all communities, especially in low- and middle-income countries.”.

With a theme that reflects the era, BME11 has received 400 registered papers from authors around the world. After the peer review process, the conference accepted 128 oral presentations, 183 poster presentations, and one special session, with participation from reputable scientists from 23 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, and more.

Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Hung – Deputy Rector of Nha Trang University – shared: ‘Nha Trang University expects the 11th BME Conference to be a strategic bridge, opening up opportunities for multi-party cooperation in the application of biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and modern technical solutions to efficiently and sustainably exploit the ocean, contributing to biomedical science and serving human life.’

Over the years, the conference has created a healthy scientific platform for students, graduate students, researchers, both domestic and international, thereby encouraging creativity, learning, and widespread development. Through this, the conference also provides opportunities for domestic and international researchers to discuss, exchange, and sign cooperation agreements in teaching and scientific research in the field of Biomedical Engineering. The 11th BME Conference is also an opportunity for young scientists to share their latest research results and receive feedback from leading scientists through oral presentations or posters.

Notably, the 11th BME Conference continues to receive the attention, support, and professional sponsorship of the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) – the world’s leading professional organization in the field of biomedical engineering. The presence of IFMBE leaders and scientists from various countries not only confirms the conference’s academic reputation and quality but also helps expand the international influence of the Vietnamese biomedical engineering community. High-quality reports will be published in the conference proceedings as part of the ‘IFMBE Proceedings Series’ of the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE), indexed in Scopus, and published by Springer.

Representatives of International University and Nha Trang University sent flowers to congratulate the important guests of BME11.

The 11th BME Conference also co-organized the  International Society for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine  (Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society – TERMIS), a world-renowned academic organization in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The support of TERMIS continues to affirm the professional quality and international appeal of the 11th BME Conference to the research community in the field of advanced biomedical technologies. In addition, BME11 also received the support of the National Science and Technology Development Fund (NAFOSTED), VINIF Innovation Fund, and technology application companies in the healthcare and health sectors.
