Message from the University Leadership

Dear distinguished guests,

The Leadership of International University (IU) extends its warmest greetings to all parents, students, and those who are interested in our University and who place their trust in IU as a reliable institution for high-quality education and training.

International University was established on December 5, 2003. It is a research-oriented university and the first multidisciplinary public university in Vietnam to use English as the primary language of instruction and scientific research over the past 20 years.

Located in the VNU-HCM campus district, with an area of 11.52 hectares and many facilities supporting teaching and learning as well as supporting students, the International University has and is being recognized by many parents and students across generations as a modern international-standard learning environment.

With the mission to train high-quality, multidisciplinary talents, focusing on fundamental research with substantial knowledge content alongside applied research, the International University is a pioneer in international integration in the field of higher education. The university has and is continuously training young talents with both knowledge and practical experience to contribute to the development of Vietnamese socio-economic context, while also having the capacity and resilience to grasp and integrate internationally. The university is also a hub for scientists and experts from various fields to work, research, and exchange academically. From there, it lays the foundation for the publication of high-level international scientific research as well as applied research with community-serving value.

A multidisciplinary university, we focus on training in life sciences, engineering, economics, management, languages, and more; offering 23 undergraduate programs, 11 master's programs, and 5 doctoral programs, with a student body of over 10,000 and nearly 600 postgraduate students. Most of the university's programs have met the quality assurance standards of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), regional (AUN-QA), and international (ABET, ACBSP, ASIIN, FIBAA…). In particular, the university has nearly 24 joint programs at various levels, with diverse fields and partnerships with countries such as the UK, Australia, the US, etc., helping students choose the most suitable learning path according to their needs. After more than 20 years of development, the International University has become one of the reputable public universities in the Vietnamese higher education system. To date, the International University has been recognized to meet the standards of the ASIIN – Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics (2023–2030); the AUN-QA (Southeast Asian University Network) quality assurance standard (2018–2023); and the MOET (Ministry of Education and Training) quality assurance standard (2016–2021).

With the vision of becoming a research-oriented university, the institution continuously introduces policies and creates opportunities to encourage strong research groups, promote key research topics with value and meeting practical needs. We are proud to be an educational institution with an impressive research and project ratio within Vietnam's higher education system, recognized by society as one of the pioneering educational institutions with many innovations in management and educational reform, outstanding teaching and learning quality, modern facilities, professional and dedicated faculty and staff.

International University of Ho Chi Minh City is confident in the professional quality of its human resources and has high expectations in training generations of students who meet the recruitment needs of large domestic and international enterprises. Currently, the employment rate of graduates from the university is over 91%.
