Student Exchange Program for the Fall 2023 Semester at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies

Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) has received information from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), South Korea, regarding the student exchange program for the fall 2023 semester, specifically:

1. Duration: from September 01 – December 21, 2023.
2. Number of spots: maximum of 03 spots.
3. Support from the program:
– Full tuition fees;
– Diverse course offerings;
– Intensive Korean language courses;
– Cultural exchange activities;
– Buddy Program;
– Opportunity to receive the Foreign Language Peer Tutoring Scholarship.
4. Requirements:
– Undergraduate students who have completed at least 01 semester;
– GPA of at least 2.5/4 (or equivalent);
– Language proficiency:
• For courses in English: students must meet one of the following conditions:
√ IELTS certificate ≥ 6.0;
√ TOEFL certificate:
o TOEFL ITP or PBT ≥ 550;
o TOEFL CBT ≥ 213;
o TOEFL iBT ≥ 80.
√ TOEIC certificate ≥ 750;
√ Letter of confirmation ensuring English proficiency from a professor at the university.
• For courses in Korean: students must meet one of the following conditions:
√ TOPIK certificate at level 3 or above;
√ KLAT Certificate 150+ (B2);
√ 15 hours of classes (from 4 to 5 classes) in university-level Korean language courses (Examples: Korean 101, 102, 201, 202, 301);
√ Intensive Korean language program of HUFS;
√ Letter of confirmation guaranteeing Korean language proficiency from a professor at the university.
5. Application dossier:
– 01 personal introduction and study plan essay (in English or Korean);
– 01 transcript of academic records (original in English or English translation with notarization);
– 01 student certificate confirmation from the school (in English or English translation with notarization);
– 01 copy of English/Korean language certificate or recommendation letter;
– 01 photocopy of the personal information page of the passport;
– 01 3x4cm white background photo;
– 01 application form for dormitory accommodation (if the student wishes to live in the dormitory);
– 01 health certificate with confirmation from a doctor (only applicable for students applying for dormitory accommodation).
Note: Students are requested to save the soft copy of the dossier to submit the online application to HUFS upon being recommended.
