International University – VNU-HCM Organizes Workshop on “Experience in Implementing Internal Quality Assurance Systems at Higher Education Institutions”
With the aim of enhancing professional capacity, updating practical knowledge and experience for staff, lecturers, and specialists, while also providing a forum for discussion, learning, and the exchange of experiences in educational quality assurance, on the morning of October 23, 2025, International University, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (IU – VNU-HCM) organized the workshop “Experience in Implementing Internal Quality Assurance Systems at Higher Education Institutions.”
The workshop was honored by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu, Vice Rector of International University – VNU-HCM, together with two invited guest speakers:
– Ms. Vo Thi Tuyet Giang, Deputy Head of the Office of Testing and Quality Assurance, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – VNU-HCM;
– Mr. Nguyen Huy Phuc, Head of the Office of Testing and Quality Assurance, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City; AUN-QA Lead Assessor, Assessment Team Leader, and Training Expert.
The workshop also had the pleasure of welcoming delegates from the Center for Educational Testing and Quality Assessment – VNU-HCM, as well as Heads and Deputy Heads of Testing and Quality Assurance units from VNU-HCM member universities.
Representatives of the University’s academic and administrative units, staff responsible for quality assurance, lecturers, and specialists from across the University also attended the workshop, contributing to an open, professional, and highly collaborative academic atmosphere.
In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu emphasized the importance of developing an Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) system. Quality assurance serves as a fundamental foundation for sustainable development, contributing to the continuous improvement of education, research, community engagement, and international integration.

Following the opening session, the workshop continued with three thematic presentations featuring practical and in-depth content:

- Experience in Implementing an Internal Quality Assurance System Based on the AUN-QA Approach

In addition to the presentations, the discussion and exchange session was highly engaging, featuring a wide range of perspectives and practical experiences shared by delegates who are leaders of Quality Assurance and Testing units from VNU-HCM member universities. The discussion focused on topics such as information systems for quality assurance, assessment of programme learning outcome attainment, internal evaluation activities, methods for collecting stakeholder feedback, quality improvement initiatives, coordination among units, and the maintenance of a quality culture across the University.

In his closing remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vong Binh Long acknowledged the valuable contributions of the speakers and delegates. He also emphasized that the workshop was a practical initiative within International University’s series of activities aimed at implementing the key tasks set out by the Ministry of Education and Training in Official Dispatch No. 6400/BGDĐT-GDĐH dated October 10, 2025, concerning the development of internal quality assurance systems and the fostering of a quality culture in accordance with Decision No. 78/QĐ-TTg of the Prime Minister.
At the conclusion of the programme, the University presented commemorative gifts to the guest speakers as a token of appreciation and held a group photo session to capture the meaningful moments of the workshop.

The workshop concluded in an open, collaborative, and engaging atmosphere, reflecting the strong commitment of International University – VNU-HCM to continuously enhancing its internal quality assurance system and advancing toward international standards in higher education.
