INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY – VNU-HCM STUDENTS LEAVE A LASTING IMPACT THROUGH VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES AT ĐẮK M’BAI BORDER POST DURING THE 2,026 SUMMER CAMPAIGN

From July 12 to July 18, 2026, the permanent team of Lâm Đồng province under the 2026 Summer Campaign of INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY – VNU-HCM was present at Đắk M’Bai Border Post, bringing the spirit of initiative and volunteerism of youth to the country’s border region.

With a force of 18 soldiers, the team worked alongside the officers and soldiers of Đắk M’Bai Border Post to implement a series of meaningful and practical activities. Notably, they installed 15 solar-powered lights, contributing to the illumination of the border and surrounding civilian areas. The soldiers also participated in border patrols and cleaning the 48/19(2) boundary marker – a sacred experience that helps young people cherish national sovereignty; meanwhile, they also participated in agricultural production, clearing land, and supported logistical work such, as cooking meals and living within the unit.

In addition to professional activities, the volunteer soldiers were trained in a military environment through contents such as document organization, military discipline, and martial arts; they participated in cultural, historical, sports, and artistic exchanges, as well as specialized sessions introducing knowledge on border defense and border sovereignty. These activities not only strengthen their capabilities and discipline but also nurture a deep love for homeland and country in the youth generation.

Social welfare work was also a priority for the team. Within the campaign, the team presented gifts to 4 poor households in the locality; donated a ‘Loving Bookshelf’ worth 10 million VND, along with 2 gifts and the ‘Nâng Bước Em Tới Trường’ scholarship, adding motivation for children in border areas to confidently step into school.

A significant milestone in the campaign was the signing of the brotherhood agreement between the Đoàn of INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY and Đắk M’Bai Border Post. According to the agreement, the two units will cooperate in border sovereignty education; implement social welfare activities; intensify cultural, sports exchanges; and leverage the strengths of students to support the locality in language, digital skills, and communication.

At the brotherhood ceremony, PGS.TS. Đinh Đức Anh Vũ – Deputy Rector of INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY – VNU-HCM presented gifts to Đắk M’Bai Border Post and the volunteer soldiers, recognizing and encouraging the dedication of students from the university on the border frontline.

The series of activities at Đắk M’Bai Border Post concluded a meaningful Summer Campaign, strengthening the bond between the military and civilians, while affirming the initiative and responsibility of the youth of INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY – VNU-HCM in the cause of building and defending the country’s border sovereignty.
